The SAP BI Roadmap offers a route forward for users of both SAP Analytics Cloud and Business Objects. This area can be complex and there have been a number of changes announced in recent years. With recent changes SAP Business Objects users should think carefully about future planning of their SAP BI needs.

The successor of SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.3 will be SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 and will be:

  • Enhanced to ease core workflows: report creation, access to information and integration with ever more complex landscapes.
  • Focused on BusinessObjects’ core strengths and most widely adopted solutions: SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, single source .unx universes, SAP Crystal Reports, SAP Analysis for Microsoft Office and the SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform.
  • Supported on Windows and Linux platforms. SAP plan to release the first version in Q4 2024, followed by Support Packages every year. As per our standard maintenance policy, SAP BusinessObjects BI 2025 will be supported until at least end of 2029 for mainstream maintenance, and 2031 for priority 1 support. SAP have committed to provide alternatives for the BusinessObjects components not supported after version 4.3
  • The SAP BI Roadmap takes users from Business Objects and On-Prem installations, to cloud activation using SAP Analytics and Planning. Users continue to benefit from the deep integration with SAP Universes and SAP Datasphere, some of the features that give SAP BI its flexibility and power.
