The most common question we are asked by SAP Business Suite and SAP Business All-in-One clients, is "What should be my strategy for business intelligence?"

There are a host of things to consider:

- Do you already have BW?  If yes, is BW your enterprise data warehouse, or does it just act as a data mart for SAP applications - supporting a separate data warehouse that combines the SAP data with that from other applications?

- Do you already have BEx?  Is this project related to other BEx BI applications?

- Do you already have BusinessObjects?

- And last, but by no means least, what exactly do the business users need?

SAP themselves make an unequivocal statement, that SAP BusinessObjects XI should be the preferred tool for new BI deployments.  But what exactly should we understand by "new"?  If you have a considerable investment in BEx and the new project is simply a small tactical solution, is it preferable to stick with BEx rather than adopt new technology?  Conversely, that small tactical project may be the ideal candidate to be your first BusinessObjects implementation, helping you to understand its capabilities and suitability for more widespread use.

Comset's business-facing consultants can guide you through this maze, balancing your short term project goals against your strategic BI roadmap.  Call or email us to discuss your situation.
